Research Assistants/Modellers/Animators: Brent McKee, Chandara Ung

The Yanyuwa people live in Borroloola in the south west Gulf of Carpentaria, 1000 kilometres south east of Darwin, as with many Indigenous groups around Australia issues associated with language decline and the untimely death of elders has meant difficulties in the transmission o a culture to younger generations. With the permission from the communities stories and song lines are being animated with 3D technologies so as to create a medium of instruction that will be attractive to a younger generation of Yanyuwa children and young adults. This project is based upon a thirty year relationship with the community by Dr. John Bradley and 7 years by Dr. Amanda Kearney.
