Berwick Campus Community Advisory Council

Constitution

The Berwick Campus Community Advisory Council will provide strategic advice to campus leadership concerning community needs, aspirations and perceptions that will inform the campus in developing its teaching, research and community engagement activities. It will provide linkages between the University and the community for the provision of advice and sharing ideas on local needs and development.

1. Structure

The Berwick Campus Community Advisory Council ('The Advisory Council') shall be constituted from the following groups:

(i) the Campus Director and Campus Manager

(ii) Berwick Heads of Academic Unit, and other full-time academic staff members from the Berwick campus by invitation of the Advisory Council

(iii) Local leaders from industry, commerce, government, secondary education and the professions

(iv) Current students and graduates of the courses offered at the Berwick campus

The Advisory Council will be appointed by the Campus Director Berwick, in consultation with the Berwick Heads of Academic Unit. The Advisory Council will be made up of an effective composition, size and commitment to adequately discharge its responsibilities and duties.

Each member shall be apppointed for a two year term and be eligable for re-appointment for a further term of two years. The Chair shall be elected by the members of the Advisory Council from the members of category (iii). The term shall be for a two year period and be eligible for re-appointment.

A quorum shall consist of the Campus Director Berwick or nominee, on other academic staff member and no less than four members from category (ii) and (iii).

2. Meetings

The Advisory Council shall meet at least twice per year. Meetings will be serviced by Berwick Campus Administration.
